BARC Fundraiser
Last year we raised $5,451 with our BARC Fundraiser, and I wanted to surpass that amount with this year's fundraiser. THANKS to the generous Berner Lovers who responded, helping us soar right past that amount, raising $8,112.18!!! That, my friends, is AWESOME!!! THANK YOU ALL!!!

BARC, Inc. (Bernese Auction Rescue Coalition, Inc.) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating Bernese Mountain Dogs from dog brokers, dog auctions, puppy mills, pet shops and any other dangerous, exploitative or abusive situations. BARC, Inc. places its rescues in loving pet homes as spayed or neutered companions. Donations to BARC are tax deductible; they are a 501©3 organization. ITEM #A ** WINNER ** Handmade Blanket made from BARC Baby Berner Fur! There are at least 40 different BARC pups who put their "best efforts" into this blanket. This blanket project started about a year ago, and the BARC people were so incredibly committed to keeping other pups from the dismal fate of puppymills, that Patty Tomaszewski got a great response when she asked BARC mommies & daddies to send their "gently used Berner fur"!! It's really a fantastic blanket ~ so soft and snuggy, and completely Bernerly. Special thanks goes to all of the BARC dogs who donated fur. ITEM #A1 ** WINNER ** There is nothing that brings a smile more quickly than two dogs having a great time together. Pat Long posted a terrific action shot on the Berner-l a few days ago that was captured by Sharon Knoepfler. I'm sure you all remember the photo of the Berner and Golden racing through the snow with their ears flapping in the wind. There are so many captions that would be perfect for this photo and we'd like to collect them all, then choose the best one for a special fundraising project. To submit a caption for this great photo, you just need to make a donation to the BARC Fundraiser. Please submit your caption with your check/cheque ~ If you have already sent a donation to the BARC Fundraiser, then you can e-mail your caption to me and we will accept your caption right away. If more than one person submits the winning caption, then the winner will be drawn from all of those submitting the winning caption.
